I feel your pain. The 20-somethings in the office are in an unspoken war to see who pulls the longest shifts, and the rest of us can get swept up into it if we're not careful since our work ties together. It's obviously a battle to be noticed by senior leadership, because if you pay attention, you notice that during their regular work hours they're very sociable and not as productive, and then once they get down to the wire they suddenly become overwhelmed with work to do and end up staying late every night.
