For me it's Radio Flyer.

Anyone remember that movie?

I'm going off by memory but here's what I remember.

Tom Hanks plays a dad and tells his kids stories about his younger brother. He explains that his little brother would get abused by their step-father, but Tom Hank's character said he wouldn't get abused. It was probably because their step-dad saw the younger brother as weak. The brothers would talk about building a plane and getting away. They start working on turning a wagon into a plane. Then one day their step-dad beats the younger brother so bad that he gets sent to the hospital. Later in the movie, the younger brother recovers and Tom Hank's says he and his brother were able to successfully build their plane. His little brother flies away safely to another home and they actually show it to you. At the end of the movie Tom Hank's says to his kids something like "Yeah my brother got away... at least that's how I'll always remember it." Some people interpret that line as the little brother dying after being sent to the hospital.
