Dog Breed Bite Statistics Let us look at some statistics on fatal dog attacks by breed, knowing that there were 430 fatal dog bites from 2010 to June 2021: Pit bull responsible for 185 deaths Pit bull Mix responsible for 41 deaths Rottweiler responsible for 26 deaths Stats speak for themselves. The bad rep they get is for killing and maiming. People tend to not like that. Blame the owners all you want. Make up rules where others cant have, but you candoesnt stop the killing and maiming at all.
