Probably, yes, worldwide. Less likely to do so domestically. Maverick had incredibly strong word of mouth to give it enormous legs, and resulted in a 5.6x multiplier over its opening weekend.

If you don't know, a 5.6x domestic multiplier is absurd. Doctor strange MoM and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever barely had over a 2x multiplier, for reference.

That said, the original Avatar had over a 10x multiplier, domestically. It was a true phenomenon. It's extremely unlikely for a sequel to do the same thing.
