Looks cool, sure, but it does bring up the problem of nobody thinking of it before as already mentioned. The Rebels could have put an X-Wing, loaded with bombs or not, on autopilot with an astromech droid and had it jump to light speed at the Death Star. You can't say that nobody thought of it because it's an obvious tactic. Then again, all you needed was some technobabble or some other reason why it works this time. If explained well enough I could buy it. Star Trek did it all the time.

One thing I did like was making Rey's parents into "nobodies". It's refreshing. George Lucas and other writers already made the SW seem small enough with everybody being related or knowing each other. Too bad JJ ruined that.
