i've been thinking it over a bit and I have my reservations after last game but I can't find the real angle here with the information I have now.

Last game when I was scum with Ben, he built a whole strategy around sacrificing himself to secure the endgame (which we don't talk about...) that didn't link him to the rest of us. So it's definitely worth considering that potential option that Ben is just sacrificing himself in a 1 for 1 for either a town role or a scary independent and his play somehow absolves or misdirects from the rest of his teammates.

But if so, it's very puzzling why he would do this on day 1. there's so much unknown information about the composition of the game and there's no way the scum team can see the end game from this game state. it feels both unlikely and unnecessary to sacrifice himself this way unless they're just THAT afraid of Isquen's role and are somehow helpless to do anything about it at night.

i mean perhaps it's potentially effective specifically because it's unpredictable like that, but I don't particularly feel a strong sense of danger from going Isquen D1 -> Ben D2 if he were lying.
