I remember there being a smaller display related to a different (liberal-slanted) cause that was in the news at halftime, but I don't recall which issue it was now (maybe immigration?). Together it was enough to make it clear that they were looking to have a fan base joined by more than the sport: it was clearly more than the (cynical) brief flag waving you get at other US sports.
