What TC is talking about is the many worlds theory. It's a theory that's based on quantum mechanics. Basically the idea is that when you are faced with a scenario with multiple outcomes, the other possibilities don't just cease to exist afterwards. Instead those possibilities continue on in other universes. Like, say there's a scenario where, you could have died. There's another universe where you did die.
