I'm pro big military budget cause a good chunk of the world doesn't like America. Some of which is America's fault. But I'd be mighty pissed if my life was in danger cause America pissed another country off and didn't have the means to deter an attack.

But on the guns. Like there is a gun I wanna buy. I don't have the funds currently but when I was looking at it it had a notice that it was banned in California. It's a fucking handgun. I'd like to know on what grounds California had it banned. Cause it was originally made for the military? A 1911 if you planned on asking

A 1911 is classified as an assault weapon and Pete Wilson, a Republican, banned assault weapons in 1994 as a response to the increase in African Americans getting a hold on guns (in fact, if you go to the legislation in that time period a 1911 is primarily labeled as an assault weapon because of this as it included a redefinition of the term). So I guess "Republicans are racist" is your answer mixed with the standard "and then the Democrats continued to do absolutely nothing" afterwards.

And most of the world hates America *because* of its big military budget and our willingness to overthrow their governments for the sake of a quick dollar. A lower government budget for the military would go a long ways in not actually needing a higher budget. While there are actual valid reasons for the high budget, defending ourselves isn't actually a part of them (it's primarily upkeep-related purposes).
