I more or less completely agree. The game has a lot of moment to moment shock value, as you can see from this topic, but if you stop to think about many of the plot developments, you start to see that there are a LOT of plot holes, contrivances, out of character moments, and inexplicable things that altogether sour the experience. I didn't know about the multiple writer aspect before, but that coupled with the game being in development hell for years starts to explain why it's such a mess. After 999 and VLR, it feels so slipshod and unsatisfying both as a sequel and as a finale for the trilogy. I'm so glad AI: Somnium Files exists so I can forget about ZTD easier.
