Persona is a bit more than a "high school life simulator". That is like calling the Pokemon franchise a "walking around tournament simulator" it misses most of what makes the game the game. Also, I don't think that is an accurate sentiment one bit, and I doubt a decision will be made based on "backlash" when Persona is an extremely popular franchise that will sell well regardless.
