There's a few reasons I could see why, and it's probably a combination of all of them.

1. He's a decent looking guy that is in shape, rich, and has the confidence to approach them.
2. Most people probably aren't going to really know who he is, since most people aren't really aware of what goes around the internet. Like even most people that are aware didn't really know who the Tates were until they blew up online a few months ago, so I don't expect your everyday person to know about his toxic views.
3. He's most definitely not stupid enough to start spewing out his garbage as soon as he meets a woman.

Plus most domestic abuse victims will probably tell you that their abuser started off as really nice and caring before starting off the cycle of abuse, so I wouldn't doubt that Tate is like that as well.
