Tbf, I treat myself the exact same and I feel I love myself too. If I get a health problem, 9 times out of 10 I just wait til it goes away organically. The nonchalantness is so deeply embedded in my habits. And once I realized there was a lump, I did go to the vet ASAP. It's not like I did nothing. He just had been showing smaller signs that I shrugged off as light injury that will heal on its own. I don't have the money to be racing to the vets and would of already been too broke to take him from other scares if I did take him to the vet every time something smaller was there. So, it's just a battle of all these contradicting thoughts. Some comforting and some self destructive but maybe still true. No idea if you're in that place too.
