Locke isn't that deep. It's just that nobody wants to embarrass themselves or whatever by explaining it. lol There's only a small handful of things about him that really come to mind or stick and stand out from the rest of the filler which echoes around those beats. He is a type, and that type is rare. What it really isn't is all that complex, but they take Locke in like what I wanna call a Bruce Willis direction. Also that name. John Locke. There's a ton of philosophy in Lost, and Lock is someone who much like the show itself, intentionally makes himself enigmatic, as a means of survival. His character shifts and the closure of arc, and development are great. I think he ends up being the opposite of who he was in the beginning, which was a little scary, and it's kinda great in a way that Lost became a parody of itself, or could be viewed that way from the perspective of Locke's character, who always seemed to me like someone out of a boardgame, or some old movie. At times he was portrayed as and came across as the protagonist of Lost, and made for a great villain echoing the big bad.
