Bringing out two $60 plates deserve the same tip as bringing out two $4 plates.
As much of an antichrist Im always seen as on here, I honestly agree. Tipping is definitely an ESH situation, but most time when I dine alone, it goes sit down > drinks > order > get food and refill > check. Maybe 5 minutes total interaction/work with me. The most I generally tip is $5 since I eat for just me, normally I round up my change and add a few dollars which is reasonable when you have several other tables at the same time, but if I have a work lunch of something then yes give them a higher tip for overall work. Like Ill have Red Lobster on my own, $35 check, $5 tip, and work lunch $150 across a handful of people, $50 tip, heck Ill give higher tip if they go above and beyond but I agree 20% tip on an expensive meal is ridiculous imo.
