I wanna see the Tim Curry one. I'm sure it doesn't live up to the hype, but I grew up on the 60's and 90's shows intermittently and I wanna see how he does.
Tim Curry is the only reason to see the movie. Saban bought the home video production rights after Value and intended to ride the popularity wave with a Direct to Video movie when Paramount released a third movie. When Raul died, Paramount decided to not make that movie. Saban teamed up with WB and decided that their movie would be a reboot and a pilot to a new TV series called The New Addams Family.
The director wanted to create a darker version of the family, but Saban wanted a copy of the earlier movies, but made for kids.
The result was a bad movie. Tim Curry is great and the only good thing in the movie.
The New Addams Family TV series was much better. Only Wednesday's actor returned.
...and John Astin, the original Gomez, returned as Grandpapa Addams in some episodes.
