Im not being obtuse

i just feel like YouTube provides a service for free, and if you dont like the way the free service is provided, you can pay for it to not have ads or you can use another site

i think YouTube is one of the most useful sites on the internet, and completely worth the monthly payment. Thats why Im always slighting annoyed when people complain about it the way they do.
I mean, I pay and use an Adblocker as well and I understand why the free users are complaining.

Up to 10 ads to start the video, plus multiple ad breaks in the length of the video, with some of those ad breaks consisting of multiple ads in themselves, plus ads that can be longer than movies or even entire actual fucking movies.

I can see why the free users are bitching. Cause it's bull fuck shit being served to them. If there was a logical consistency to the ad rate (IE an ad or two to start, then an ad break at 25/30%, 50/60% and 75/90% of the video length for videos over X minutes) and if they were consistently skippable or of shorter (15s or less) length then it'd be understandable and manageable.

But as it stands now, if you got 10 minutes to burn, and you pick a 6 minute video, it's not unrealistic that you won't even be able to finish said fucking video due to ads.

Why would I agree to seeing a 90 minute movie that may actually take me 180 minutes to watch?
