Topic	Is Soul Calibur one of those dead franchises?

Alienating Nintendo and Xbox fans. Then 4, while good, added Star Wars characters, who just did not fit the style or theme of the series at all. Then 5 was just all around mediocre and lacking single player content. So the series has been struggling for a while. I don't think it's dead yet, though.
