The atrocious writing 100% did ruin the season. The visuals and music (especially the music) was on point, but holy crap did they shit the bed completely with the writing.

For a narratively driven show, you need competent writing and story. The fall began in season 6, where they began rushing things (like teleporting littlefinger).

Like Jesus fucking christ, the battle of bastards wasn't even that good tbh.

And the battle of winterfell... Probably the single worst written battle in all of fiction. God damnit, I'm not even well versed in medieval combat but every single tactic they has was the wrong thing to do. Charging your cavalry into the zombies? Trebuchets on the front line?? Tons of YouTube videos out there analyzing it in detail.

Omg can you be more elitist? Who gives a shit about tactics? Its a show about people fighting zombies with dragons and blood magic. But no the tactics!

This is comical and confirms everything Ive been saying.
