Historically basically nobody drops out between South Carolina and Super Tuesday. Before 2020 the only candidate to do so in modern history was some guy who got forced out by a personal scandal. Since the ST is only days after SC, even a failing campaign loses nothing by staying in until ST.

The unusual timing indicates that the candidates rushed the closure of their campaigns explictly to change the results, which is eh. But candidates aside a bunch of other Dem. leaders like Harry Reid and also inexplicably chose to endorse Biden at the same time. It's like they were never big fans of Biden himself but just really wanted someone to beat Bernie.
I dont know much about Klobucher, but I do remember that South Carolina essentially killed any last tiny sliver of hope Buttigieg had. He might not have lost anything (aside from other peoples money, which should not be discounted) but I can only imagine the political capital he gained from a pre ST Biden endorsement was inifinitely more useful than a limp dick campaign death on ST would have been.

Historical precedent or no, his actions strike me as incredibly logical and not requiring the invocation of conspiracy unless you wanna challenge Occams Razor in the name of Bernie Sanders.
