I think the real problem is people becoming too invested too soon because why are you even upset about that? My current girlfriend and I were hooking up for the better part of a year. We had a few months where we didnt speak. Then one day we ran into each other again and picked up where we left off and have been together since. You never know why and you never know if that person will come back into your life. To avoid that person feeling guilty, to avoid your own feelings of inadequacy and to avoid stress altogether I beg you to just let it go. It will work out.
