You can literally swap between a regular Pokemon Sword/Shield cartridge and a Sword+EXP/Shield+EXP cartridge on your Switch at will and it interprets it as the same game with the same save file. And when you put a Sword+EXP/Shield+EXP cartridge in for the first time it just comes up as regular Sword/Shield (if you don't have it on your Switch already) and forces you to download the DLC. then you must have purchased it used and got scammed because this cart is literally that it has the dlc on the cart and it says so on the box it literally says "you do not have to download anything" on the packaging fyi ...
