But that's their prerogative so whatever.

It's why I don't take anything here seriously. It's like no one thinks for themselves and are just a bunch of people over 30, pushing 40, or over 40 desperate for validation and a sense of belonging, so they cling onto the hivemind opinion without thought or their own feelings on the matter.

The only reason I really come back here is to remind myself of my goal by the time I'm 30: Even if things somehow end up bad, I REFUSE to be like these people.

Like, say what you want about Reddit, but if CE had something like their downvote system, it'd be a heckuva lot worse. (Hence its reputation as "ResetEra 2.0") At least with Reddit, even the downvoted side at least gets SOME people trying to understand their points of view and replying to them with somewhat of an open mind. Which is why, for example, I love the trans subreddits for the enlightening discussions on the trans experience both good and bad; heck, I've visited those reddits so much that I'm excited to get a notification on my phone to read more about it. It's the complete opposite of... whatever brainwashed, draconian madness goes on here when the same subjects are mentioned.
And I'm not talking about transphobes. I mean CE's overzealous hivemind that will defend a subject tribalistically to an almost creepy extent, like they're trying to make a safespace for the nonexistent 12-year olds who browse the forum, but instead it's a daycare for older individuals akin to Rick and Morty's Jerryboree.

CE's bigotry towards differing opinions is about as bad as their social skills. And for that, it will always be a joke. Which is why I like coming here: the spectacle's hilarious~
