If you wanted to call Bishop or Cable sci-fi since they're time travelers form the future with laser guns, cybernetics, etc. I could see that but Gambit doesn't really fit the theme. The X-Men is a science fiction series. Gambit himself doesn't have science fiction properties, but he is a character in a science fiction series, which is enough to qualify him ...
