Representation matters whether it's an original story or remade classic. Black people don't need to create their own of something for it to be valid to black people.

Also, black people have a ton of stories that we create and we dont need to be confined to those. Like shit, Tyler Perry has been creating black stories for decades but when shit like this comes out the racists always say "why cant they create their own". WE HAVE BEEN.
