I though he stepped away under his own terms, not like he was exiled and made a big comeback. He did 3 seasons of Doom Patrol prior to this, so hes been back around for a few years. I'm not sure this is a scenario where he needed Hollywood support to return to acting, he needed to figure that out himself.
