i don't think it should be a prickly topic. i remember when arcus was asked on his stream if ninja gaiden was a hard speedrun for him to learn because the game is so difficult, he replied something like: "when you start grinding a game, terms like 'easy' and 'hard' go out of the window. it's just a matter of putting in the hours."

i do get that certain speedruns are harder to learn than other runs. but that's a different issue than the "is there a significant difference between running a game on easy mode or hard mode" question.
