Regardless of one's personal feelings on the quality of these movies or their impact on the film medium, the level of consistency and competence in the MCU's production is unprecedented, especially for action / superhero movies. That kind of clout is becoming more and more attractive to the kind of big-name, respected stars who might have turned their nose at it ten years ago - even the most self-serious actor probably still harbors childlike fantasies of playing a superhero.
