Yeah, that's what I'm saying. When you think of a nurse, for example, most people think of a female. When people think of a doctor, they think of a male. Doctors are paid more than nurses, but nurses tend to do a LOT more work than doctors. If there is a male nurse, they tend to be looked down on and called, "Murces."
I think this is a patriarchal. Husbands should earn more than their wives, and in order to do that, the jobs that the wives are more apt for will pay less than the jobs that men are more apt at. And again, like I said in my first comment, this does have a lot to do with being assertive and asking for more. Men tend to be more aggressive when asking for more money than women, but that's because society has made it seem that men need to earn more than women, and this is from both men and women. Women tend to not date men that don't make more than they do, so this patriarchal society has made men earn more on average.
So it's all a conspiracy to maintain the patriarchy . Yet it's also because men demand more money for their labor in the free market. But men do that because women want to date a man that makes more than them. So society has been structured to pay men more so they remain viable , as opposed to just having more value period because they work harder jobs .
