Topic	Chile rejects new progressive Constitution
BlackOmnimon 09/04/22 7:14:10 PM #1:	The new Constitution would have enshrined rights for indigenous peoples, the state's obligation to provide basic services such as healthcare and education, and the nation's ownership over strategic resources such as water and lithium. It appears the rightist campaign equating the new Constitution with communism was succesful, and for now Chile will remain with the 1980 Constitution, drafted and approved during the rule of USA-backed military dictator Augusto Pinochet.
