I believe that in the 17 years Ive had to take care of my own medical decisions, Ive never been given straight up false information by any receptionist. Especially not about a procedure as intensive as a hysterectomy. If theyve ever been unsure of something theyve put me on hold while they find out the answer to my question.

I also find it hard to dismiss the information given by someone who is knowledgeable enough to know they cant give specifics due to hipaa but claims to have personally witnessed patients under 16 receive the procedure. What reason does she have to lie? If she is lying, shell end up in deep trouble for wasting everyones time once its discovered the supposed patient is ineligible for a procedure based on the simple to answer question of what age they are.
