This is a big part of why I stopped going to protests and vigils. The kind of person who goes to these things generally lives in a perpetual state of agitation and hypersensitivity to the point of being just fucking miserable, quite frankly, and I can't waste my time or energy on that. I got used to the average meat eater in developed nations being an irrational, inflammatory chud because this is a decidedly non-vegan world and if I were going to lose my shit every time one of them did something chuddy, well I'd have no shit left. It doesn't bother me much anymore but the hysterics of the animal rights zealots (who are, fortunately, a minority in vegan/plant-based communities) was unbearable, mostly because it's entirely detrimental to the cause.
