The "non-political" era included the height of the war on "SJWs" and all of gamergate, the European refugee crisis, and the backlash to Obama, daily arguments about whether gay people deserve rights, etc

Now we've moved onto discussing how woke everything is, the backlash to Biden, whether we should care about the fact hundreds of people die of a preventable illness daily, whether anything can or should be done about climate change, and whether trans people deserve rights/to be allowed to live.
