I don't particularly like calling Aang a Mary Sue either, but Korra is so muuuuch farther from being a Mary Sue than Aang ever was, despite winning against the "God of Evil, ooh so spooky." As a matter of fact, part of the annoyances I had with Korra was how much Korra would struggle at times.
