wow. I looked it up to see if Near's death had been a hoax. There's no evidence he's alive as far as I can tell. Can you elaborate or are you just trying to defend your favorite harrassment website?

iirc the guy had a small (like 20 pages or so, where high traffic threads have hundreds) and mostly inactive thread, that was relatively tame for KF standards. i only skimmed it after the supposed suicide, but the harshest thing i remember was them razzing him for being a diaperfur (a furry whose fursona wears diapers). he had an account and participated in his own thread, and had relatively cordial conversations with the posters there. didnt seem to indicate that it was causing him any great amount of distress.

he hadnt been doxxed at this point, and the thread rarely received any activity. then, months later, he emails null out of the blue saying hes going to kill himself over the thread, and offers null something like $60k to take it down. null says no, and the next day, someone who says he knows near IRL tweets that he committed suicide over kiwi farms.

KF users doubt this claim and pressure the guy into giving more info. he doesnt, but insists that in 6 months or something, since near was an american living in japan, his death would be reported on a publicly available japanese govt record of foreigner deaths in japan.

near gets doxxed sometime around here, and KF users wait to see if his name pops up in the record. it never does, and no american suicides were reported in japan from the date of his supposed suicide to the time of publication.

its unclear afaik what actually happened and whether hes alive or dead, and the only source for any info on it was that marcan guy on twitter who iirc worked on emulators with him or something.

the combination of him having a relatively tame and fairly inactive thread, an attempt to get null to agree to extortion, and the supposed record of death never having his name listed on it is why KF claims that its a hoax
