i think they just don't like that college is a gamble compared to the relative stability of the military, in terms of institutional guidance structures re: moving into adulthood.

but for every person that ends up a barista they are ignoring the persons working in the women's shelter, the INGO, the ethics board, etc. it seems to boil down to people having a very basic understanding of what jobs actually exist and how skills can be made use of. in fact I started uni wanting to be a diplomat because I had no more realistic ideas, but then I ended up in a professional program for nonprofit management. there is a huge diversity of jobs where you can in fact use your skills and knowledge. you probably just won't get the big job you initially set your sights on.

Basically, Samsung's issue seems to be you won't get the job you want, but to say you will get no decent job at all just goes against the data.
