I'm not ignoring it. I don't think you get what I'm saying.

What I'm trying to say is, people shouldn't be getting those loans in the first place if they aren't sure they can pay it back

That seems different from your starting post, which seemed more "why would anybody do X?" and then repeated keeping a good credit score as the reason to do/not do anything. But for your clarification - how exactly are you defining "be sure you can pay it back"? If you take out 50k in loans for a degree that starts out at 200k but never "be sure" - get injured/the demand for that field drops/etc. What if you are "pretty sure" you will be able to pay it back?

I dont see myself doing it though tbh

Even Dave Ramsey said home loans and auto loans are bad idea

A) So you are going to save up 400k liquid before buying a house?
B) I'm not familiar with Ramsey but I don't see why his opinion is relevant? He took loans, had them recalled, so wouldn't he be biased against them?

C) He says it's okay to get a mortgage?!?!?

Step 4: Get preapproved for a mortgage.
The best way to buy a home is with cashbut if you have to get a mortgage, theres nothing wrong with that. Getting preapproved is the first step to securing a home loan.
