If I was going to do a school shooting and the school had an armed guard, then I would walk up to him from behind, pull out a gun and shoot him in the head.
It removes my closest and biggest threat, it gives me more firepower, most likely a bulletproof west and as a bonus, he is most likely carrying a keycard that gives him access to all closed classrooms.
I mean, an armed guard that cant access rooms where the shooter is feels kinda pointless.

Anyone plans to shoot up that school, and that guy will absolutely be the first one on the list, and unless he's drawing down on everyone who approaches him, he can be taken by surprise.
