The British Sherlock with Benny C and Martin Freeman lol on topic: not necessarily a detective show, but Only Murders in the Building is exactly this. starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez on the second season right now, the penultimate episode aired last night and i'm about to watch it the first season involves a single death, and solving that same with this season show is great, comfy, Steve Martin and Martin Short are funny, there's a couple of great cameos in there too, and it definitely gets exciting. great theme song as well --- "...so i'm like, i HAVE to be off the hook, but they laughed at my story and THEN he beat the piss out of me" ...
