This suggests that Sanders supporters who voted for Trump in the general had largely reached across the aisle in support of Sanders and didn't have allegiance to the Democratic party platform and their votes were never secured for the party with any other candidate. Hardly seems reasonable to say that someone going "well I was going to vote Republican, but if they go with Sanders I might change my mind" was a stolen democratic party vote when they chose to not go with Sanders. The people who hate Socialism were tripping over themselves to vote for the self-proclaimed Socialist.
