It's also owed quite a lot to all 169 million copies sold to people. Which is by far the highest selling full priced game in history. There's no guarantee it would sell as many $60 copies (or $70 copies in GTAVI's case) without single player. Yes they made a shitload from GTA Online. But that doesn't make the single player sales useless. Again RDR2 sold 35 million copies and they have already cut off online support. That's a large chunk of people who bought a game to play single player only. You can't really put that aside when it's the literal last game they released and will be the last game before GTAVI.
