I will say this, in terms of gameplay I still prefer Smash Ultimate because it just feels better to play. The attacks have a better "crunch" to them and it just feels more satisfying to play. Plus Smash felt like an organic idea, a video game company has a bunch of video game IP's and then makes a game where all these IP's duke it out on a stage feels more genuine than a movie company just throwing in live actions with cartoon characters in a game. One feels more corporate cash grab while the other feels like something that makes sense.

With that said, while Multiversus feels like a corporate cash grab, I'm actually glad that it still plays great. One of the things I noticed about the devs from Multiversus vs. something like Smash is that Multiversus is finally giving something to the FGC that almost no other fighters have done yet, full crossplay that will allow for easier match making, rollback (still needs work though), and an easier entry (F2P) into the game that you don't have to throw in $60's to play (also including DLC's that just means more money). I mean not to mention that already Multiversus is throwing in $100k into an official tournament when official Smash tournaments grand prize is a controller with the smash logo on it. For some reason, Nintendo really hates the competitive side to their games. Which is playing a big role why so many in the FGC community is support the crap out of Multiversus, even ones that don't really play non-platform fighters.
