| Wetterdew 08/05/22 1:10:59 AM #39: | the fandom existed because there were so many young men who didn't fit into more conventional social groups. they found a group that reveled in being unconventional and I think bronies found it empowering to be able to shed their obligation to maintain masculinity. They were embarrassing as hell to behold, but I doubt most bronies regret it, they seem to have had a fun time. I think it attracted a lot of people on the fringe of society (autistic people mainly) and they had a community where they could be earnest without rejection.
