I was thinking of you today, having been quite moved by something you had mentioned in your car topic. I dont have the one-to-one experience of people doubting my capability due to my experience, but I feel I can relate on a more micro level since recently on dates, the server tends to put the check down in front of the man, and I just want to protest that kind of ideology. I think its so cool to read about you having been able to make your own dreams come true in spite of the reductive way people had treated you on your way to making that happen. These kinds of stories make me want to work even harder! I know were just strangers on a message board, and only know each other through words and pictures in boxes on a dying website, but I really do believe reading your perspective on things enriches my experience on this board. Haha yes the servers always put the check in front of the man. Ive always offered to pay when I was in the dating days and they would cling to the bill and refuse. But it also feels in a way that some of your power gets taken away and then they have expectations youd rather they didnt.
