Premise: Kino travels across the world encountering new people and unfamiliar countries. Its a journey guided by a single rule: never stay in one place for more than three days.

The Good: This is an episodic series, and some of the places Kino visited were neat in concept.

The Bad: The two main flaws that bring Kinos Journey down both tie into the themes, which were either heavy-handed or confused depending on the episode. One was about a slave, with the predictable message that slavery is bad. To show this, the slave is a saint who never begrudges anyone. Every other person is comically terrible, abusing her just for the fun of it. Its like they were worried people might confuse who the bad guys were, so they went to such an ugly extreme. Another episode was set in a mobile city that ruined another citys crops as it drove past. Kino, in the mobile city, has zero problem with this. When the other city sends people to vandalize the mobile citys central mural in revenge, though, Kino leaps into action to defend it! Whats this story even trying to say? Art is more important than food?

Overall: I liked the idea of a wanderer visiting strange new places. The 2017 version of Kinos Journey was just a miserable experience. Even the episodes that werent terrible were boring at best and never did the concept justice.
