There was a Lithuanian guy at my job that thought my name was Scott and I couldn't understand him enough to correct him. I just heard "eh" when he'd say my name.

Apparently, other people asked him who I was and then asked him to spell it because they couldn't understand him either. So then all these people from other parts of the building were calling me Scott. I just went with it because I had known this guy a couple years at this point.

One day, I was talking with these guys who knew me as Scott and someone called me my real name and asked me to do something when I got a chance. All these people were confused and asked wtf was going on. I panicked and told them that was my last name.

Several years later, I left that company and I think a large portion of people I talked to daily never knew my real name.
