I think I've read through every comment here and honestly think most of them are not "unpopular" opinions. Those that triggered me in some way I'd like to react to:

Paragon21XX posted... Being objectively wrong isn't the same as having an unpopular opinion.

The more you know

It depends on what you mean by what's objectively wrong. 1+1 = 3 is objectively wrong in the decimal system. Phoeinix is in Kentucky is objectively wrong.
The death penalty is not morally wrong is an opinion. If you mean something along the lines of hte former where you can either quantify, measure, or physically locate the subjects in the statement, then I'm with you. If you mean the latter, then I disagree though I can't say you're objectively wrong.

ElGatoBravo posted... -Most of those ''unpopular opinion'' topics are just guys not understanding the difference between a ''poorly thought opinion'' and a legit unpopular opinion. Like saying ''Mozart is overrated'' is a stupid opinion in every sense conceivable while saying ''I don't like Mozart'' is a perfectly legit opinion. See the difference?

Both can be poorly thought but for different reasons. "Mozart is overrated" can at least put some measurements in it in some way, though it doesn't necessarily validate the opinion. "His music on YouTube had 34 million views in the month of June alone, which was actually about the same in May, and the other months of 2022. While Kanye West, despite being the number 1 artist of the past 5 years, only had 30 million views per month. Mozart didn't even do anything original. He ripped off <insert name here>. He's overrated."

BTW, I'm unsure of the numbers and the statement of Kanye West. I literally made it up to use it as an example.

Even when phrased that way it doesn't validate the opinion, but it at least uses facts to back up the opinion.
"I don't like Mozart" can be poorly thought out. "why don't you like Mozart?" "because I don't." Now while that's a valid reason for his opinion, there was literally no thought to that opinion, and could have been poorly thought out.

bigblu89 posted... As someone that considers themselves extremely liberal on social issues, I find most liberals I talk to online to be varying degrees of unbearable.

Same. But I find the same with conservatives. Honestly, anyone (and that perhaps includes me) can be very obnoxious when it comes down to political issues.

I honestly don't give a damn about gamers, their attitude or their culture. I don't consider myself a gamer. I'm a casual at best. My response isn't to defend their honor. Its wondering why you take the time to go onto a website dedicated to gaming, and post on a board that's full of gamers? The door is that way, and you're welcome to use it.
