Remember, original USB A/B ports were 4 connectors / wires.

USB Micro-A/B with OTG introduced the 5th connector for 5 connectors/wires to allow connecting of the same Connector head on both ends.

SuperSpeed USB added in 5 more connectors to the base 5 connectors for a total of 10 connectors / wires.

USB Type-C, the so-called Universal Connector is OVERLY COMPLEX and WAY too flexible.
That's good & bad for so many reasons that I would need to write an essay on it.

24 Freakin Micro Contacts / wires that are as thin as a human hair, if not thinner.

Quality of your Hair Strand thick Copper needs to be super high quality and pure.

The Micro-Controller managing each USB-C has to be included and programmed correctly.

All Wire-Shielding has to be done correctly.

If you don't, you're going to get a USB-C cable that can't do everything and will only do limited functionality as specified by the Micro-Controller.

Or it can literally FRY your LapTop if the vendor did a slip shod job on it.

I think we need a Updated Super Speed Connector that works with the latest USB specification, but takes all the Miniaturization advantages of the Type-C port and makes a smaller port.

One that is only a "Single Super Speed" lane instead of multiple lanes that is programmable.

Maybe we should have a USB Mini-C port that is simpler, smaller, cheaper.

Maybe a small elongated Hexagonal port like this:

But with this type of pin lay-out that is reversible.

One where you can easily split a single Type-C port into 3x or more Mini-C ports, each with a Single Super Speed Lane.

We don't need everything in our Port Lives to be Jumbo Super Gulp XL sized bandwidth

Sometimes, we need Ports with Bandwidths that are: Small, Medium, & Large.
