During a period where I didnt have a bicycle, I also once had a 3.5 mile walk (one way) to work. Honestly, I loved it. Id get really stoned after (and maybe sometimes [always] during) work, put on my headphones, and have a fantastic time getting home. This was in California so it rarely rained and the weather was usually pretty nice. Even before I started using herbal supplements, I never minded having long walking or biking commutes to and from work. I truly enjoyed it. I feel like part of the magic of a long walk home at night or late afternoon is lost with the easiness of driving, but also the roads where Im living are not nearly as walkable. Plus, its humid and hot in the summer, cold and snowy in the winter, and my former herbal enjoyment is highly illegal and not worth seeking out here (not that its necessary for the enjoyment, but it certainly enhanced it in many ways). So driving does make more sense where Im currently at.
Way back I use to always get off around 12 am a lot and have to walk home in California. Those were fun walks.
