i like the cinematography from Us, I just don't like how uncohesive the story feels. To me it felt like the stories I used to write in high school in creative writing class. polygon's review makes me skeptical of nope bc it basically says it suffers from the same problem:

but it does look really cool from the trailers. I read a plot synopsis and I don't think I'll see it in a theater but I can totally see myself watching it at home eventually
Tbf the story in NOPE seemed pretty clear and cohesive to me. It doesn't really meander or get lost. Everything feels as fully realized as it should have been with the exception of maybe one character. I think it's worth seeing in theaters just because of the scope of it all. There's some pretty big scenes.

How are the jump scares in this one? Are there a lot and are any of them cheap?
There's maybe 2 or 3 significant jump scares but really they're not bad. The movie overall isn't very scary, and it doesn't use jump scares cheaply to try to be.

There are a shit ton of string hits tho, like an usual amount lol but they're not always accompanied by a jump scare.

Also I don't want to spoil the movie here outright. There's a lot to it and I think I'd do it an injustice by spoiling the parts I would spoil.
